About

I am the fourth generation of my family, born and raised in Douglas, Arizona. My family's history runs deep in Cochise County. My great-grandfather, Julio Gomez, died in 1928 and rests at Sacred Heart Cemetery, the only burial ground in North America that faces south towards Mexico.

My grandfather, Michael Gomez, was a cherished figure and a prominent community leader in Pirtleville, Arizona, where he owned Gomez Grocery.  He was recognized as a person of influence by politicians such as Udall, Goldwater, Deconcini and Symington to name a few, all who sought his support. My father, Dr. Mike Gomez, blazed a trail as one of Arizona's first Hispanic dentists. He served on the Douglas School Board and went on to serve on the City Council for many years, ultimately achieving renown as the Mayor of Douglas from 2008 to 2012 where he supported secure borders.  I view Douglas and Cochise County as my home and feel a profound dedication to my community which is deeply rooted in my family’s longstanding connection to the area.

Education

Kathleen received her A.A. from Stephens College, Columbia, MO and her B.S. in International Service from American University, Washington, D.C.

Experience

Why You Should Vote For Me!

I bring a wealth of experience and dedication to public service, having worked in various sectors including trade associations, nonprofits, small business and healthcare. My background includes extensive involvement in political campaigns and legislative work, providing me with a deep understanding of the challenges faced in these arenas. Additionally, I have firsthand knowledge of running a small business and have worked on Wall Street. I have demonstrated strong community leadership by revitalizing organizations and spearheading local initiatives.  My commitment to education is evident through my roles in NYC public schools, where I served in various capacities. I champion voter education and encourage down-ballot voting as the founder of the KYVI – Know Your Vote Initiative. I am excited to continue serving the community by running for the Cochise County Board of Supervisors for District 2.
