About

Jim Waring is a City Councilman representing District 2 in northeast Phoenix. With a background in state and local politics, he has focused on responsible governance and addressing the needs of his constituents. As a former State Senator, Waring fought against wasteful government spending, supported job creation, and advocated for tough-on-crime public policies. He received recognition from organizations such as the Arizona Federation of Taxpayers, National Federation of Independent Business, and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce. Waring's commitment to combating domestic violence earned him accolades from the Men's Anti Violence Network and the Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence. He was also honored for his support of veterans with awards including the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Copper Shield Award and the National Guard Association of the United States Medal of Merit. He serves on the Public Safety and Justice City Council subcommittee, prioritizing support for law enforcement and working to eliminate wasteful government spending. Undergraduate from Northern Illinois University | P.H.D in Public Administration from Arizona State University

 

 

Experience

Prior to entering politics, Councilman Waring served on the staffs at ASU, the Arizona Board of Regents and Northern Arizona University. Before assuming his position on the Council he was a state Senator.
