About

Mrs. Heather Rooks assumed her role on the Peoria Unified Governing Board on January 1, 2023, currently serving as the Board Clerk. A product of the Peoria Unified School District, Mrs. Rooks proudly graduated from Sunrise Mountain High School. Prior to her roles as a wife and mother, she dedicated three years to pursuing an education degree at Glendale Community College. Mrs. Rooks actively participates in her community, where she has founded local parent advocacy groups and ardently champions for children's education and parental rights.

In her capacity as a board member, Mrs. Rooks directs her efforts towards advocating for pro-American curriculum, supporting special needs students and special education employees, enhancing school safety, and providing backing for bus drivers. Her commitment extends to ensuring academic support for both Peoria Unified students and staff while promoting a culture of transparency.
