About

Sheriff Mark J. Dannels is a 38-year veteran of law enforcement. He has over 3000 hours of law enforcement training in his portfolio. He attended Disney’s Leadership and Executive Training programs and is a graduate of the Rural Executive Management Institute. He began his law enforcement career in 1984 after serving a successful tour in the United States Army. He progressed through the ranks with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office to the position of Deputy Commander after working numerous specialty assignments and leadership roles to include an appointment by the Arizona Governor for his dedicated efforts directed toward highway and community safety.

Education

Master’s- Criminal Justice Management- Aspen University Certified Public Manager from Arizona State University

Experience

Sheriff Mark J. Dannels boasts a distinguished 38-year career in law enforcement, commencing in 1984 after serving in the United States Army. Throughout his tenure with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, he ascended to the role of Deputy Commander, demonstrating expertise across various leadership positions and specialty assignments. Dannels has amassed over 3000 hours of law enforcement training, including programs at Disney’s Leadership and Executive Training, and is a graduate of the Rural Executive Management Institute. His commitment to highway and community safety earned him an appointment by the Arizona Governor.
