Rachel Mitchell is an Arizona native and a veteran prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. For the past thirty years, she’s dedicated her career to protecting families by prosecuting crimes against children, ensuring the integrity of our legal system, and leading teams of prosecutors to hold dangerous criminals accountable. She has served at all levels of the office and led teams of prosecutors for more than 20 years, including the sex-crimes bureau, which prosecutes crimes that involve crimes against children including sex trafficking and adult sexual assault. Mitchell has successfully prosecuted hundreds of complex cases. Mitchell rose to national prominence when she served as Nominations Investigative Counsel and questioned both Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh during Justice Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. She served as the acting Maricopa County Attorney after the appointment of Bill Montgomery to the Arizona Supreme Court and previously served as the Chief Deputy County Attorney and Chief of the Special Victims Division.
