Currently chair of the Tolleson Planning Commission, where she has served since 2013, Eva is an Arizona native, who grew up in Phoenix and moved to Tolleson in 1992. She is married and the mother of 2 children. Her 27 years in the education arena include teaching in three area elementary school districts, and in administrative positions as Assistant Principal at the Isaac Elementary School District and as Principal at Avondale Elementary School District. She has also been an instructor at South Mountain Community College and at Arizona State University. Eva has been part of the Red for Ed movement of the Arizona Education Association which began an aggressive fight for public education in the state in 2018. She has also been active as a volunteer and in paid positions with Chicanos Por La Causa Community Center.
